About us
About us
M1 Capital is a digital asset hedge fund based in Amsterdam. We focus on market-neutral strategies across DeFi and CeFi, combining systematic research, active trading, and risk-managed execution to generate uncorrelated returns across market environments. Our offering includes core funds such as M1-A1 and M1-B1, as well as tailored solutions including our tokenized fund vehicles. In total we manage approx. $180 million.
We're looking for a Quantitative Developer to join our trading team and help drive the next phase of our in-house trading engine. The core architecture is already in place; your job is to build on that foundation, optimise performance, and extend its capabilities as we expand our set of strategies both horizontally and vertically. You'll work across research, execution, and on-chain systems, directly contributing to alpha generation and fund scalability.

What you'll do
What you'll do
Extend and harden the existing trading engine across the Python/Rust stack (research and strategy logic in Python, performance-critical paths in Rust).
Develop and optimise trading algorithms and systematic strategies for our multi-strategy market-neutral fund.
Profile and optimise latency- and throughput-sensitive components, from order routing to market data processing.
Design and implement new modules for order management, risk checks, position tracking, and execution logic.
Integrate DeFi and CEX systems: design execution pipelines, multisig transaction flows, and monitoring tools.
Conduct quantitative research across strategy design, backtesting, implementation, and risk management.
Build and maintain backtesting and simulation tooling to validate engine behaviour against historical and live data.
Build and maintain databases for efficient data storage and real-time algorithm logging.
Perform protocol risk assessments, vet trading venues, and ensure secure interaction with DeFi protocols.
Improve testing, monitoring, and observability so issues are caught before they hit production.
Participate in code reviews and help shape engineering standards as the codebase and team grow.
Engage with investors, assisting in fundraising and providing strategy-level explanations when needed.
